A Wenonah doctor has been charged with two more counts of criminal sexual contact following accusations by two additional female patients that he molested them, authorities said yesterday.
A general practitioner who has worked at Wenonah Medical Associates for about 15 years was arrested at his office July 9 and charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact and one count of lewdness.
The new charges allege that the doctor rubbed his genitals on the leg of a 24-year-old Woodbury woman and then stuck his tongue in her mouth during an office visit in June 2002, said Ed Sholinsky, spokesman for the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.
He also allegedly touched a breast of a 55-year-old Sewell woman with his mouth and then touched her crotch. He then took her hand and then put it on his crotch, Sholinsky said.
Both women left Lafon's examination room immediately after the contact, Sholinsky said.
More than 40 patients, including a Williamstown man, have contacted investigators about the doctor. The complaints range from inappropriate comments to unwanted sexual contact.
The Prosecutor's Office and Wenonah police have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges, Sholinsky said.
An investigation began early last month when a 36-year-old Deptford woman told authorities that the doctor had put his mouth on her breast on two occasions in April and May.
